Aerodrome Controller
As the PP practical test for pilots, the ADC is the first exam a user takes in his virtual Air Traffic Controller career. Applicant will be asked to control an aerodrome Tower (_TWR). No one can chose LIRF_TWR or LIMC_TWR for his ADC exam. Examinne must be proficient in managing traffic on ground and within the ATZ., in issuing correct clearances for departing aircraft, managing simultaneously IFR and VFR traffic within the ATZ, providing traffic information, giving correct take off clearances taking into account correct separations between aircraft of different wake turbolence categories, using a correct phraseology, etc. A wise runway selection and correct ATIS information are very important as well as good coordination with the approach control, if present. On examiner discrection, the examinee could be asked to handle an emergency or priority, demonstrating his ability in facing these situations.
During the test, examiner will check examinee theoretical knowledge about the airspace he's controlling (ATZ) and the airport in it, about sorrounding airspaces and local procedures, about reading and interpreting VFR, aerodrome and instrument procedure charts, about reading and understanding METAR and TAF, about aircraft categories (L, M, H and J) and their importance for ATC.
English language must be used unless otherwise requested by the situation.
